192° Wide-Angle Fisheye M12 Lens for 5MP to 8MP Sensors

CIL237 is a cost-competitive 1.75mm fisheye M12 lens for wide coverage on larger image circles. The product page leads with 200° at 5.5mm, while the specification table lists 192° at 5.4mm image circle with a full 5.5mm image circle. In practice, this is the lens to use when you want aggressive coverage on sensors from 1/3" to 1/1.7" without moving to a much larger assembly.

The lens is rated at 5MP with 2.2μm pixels, and it is commonly used on sensors up to 5MP 1/2.5" and 8MP 1/1.8". The 1.75mm EFL, F/2.2 aperture, and 19.0mm TTL help when housing depth is still tight.

The optical design uses hybrid Glass+Plastic construction with metal mechanicals. That trade keeps cost and weight under control at 5g while still giving useful performance. The M12A variant includes BBAR on lens 1 surface 1 with a metal cap and barrel, and it is available both with IR cut and without a filter for NIR work.

The distortion profile is unusual. Commonlands calls out less than 2% F-Θ distortion through a 5.0mm image circle, then -8% F-Θ at 5.5mm. That profile is useful when angular consistency matters more than straight edges.
