2mm F/2.0 Wide-Angle Lens With 160° FoV

CIL822 is a compact 2.4mm F/2.0 M12 lens with 160° field of view and -4.0% F-θ distortion at a 6.4mm image circle. That is a useful balance when you want near-panoramic coverage but do not want the stronger distortion profile many fisheyes bring with them.

The lens is specified for 4-5MP imaging with 2.0μm pixels and points toward 1/2.8" class sensors. The listed 20° chief ray angle at the 6.4mm image circle is also worth paying attention to, because it tells you whether the sensor can tolerate the edge ray angles without adding shading or response loss. If your sensor CRA margin is tight, that number matters more than marketing adjectives.

The optical construction is 2G5P, the as-designed image circle is 6.2mm, and the total weight is only 3g. Commonlands also lists a 15mm TTL, so the lens fits modules where stack height is a real mechanical limit rather than a nice-to-have. This is the sort of part you choose when the PCB, holder, and enclosure all leave very little room.

The CIL822 works well in compact embedded vision, robotics, and occupancy-view cameras. The F/2.0 aperture keeps light throughput reasonable, the mass stays low, and the housing does not sprawl. If you need a very wide lens without dragging in a large fisheye barrel, this is a practical option.
