Frequently asked questions
What is the maximum lens weight for the CLA321-VCM?
The CLA321-VCM supports M12 lenses up to 7g. With a 5g lens in vertical orientation at 100mA, it can achieve 600μm or more of stroke.
What stroke does the CLA321-VCM voice coil motor provide?
The CLA321-VCM provides a full stroke of 400μm under standard conditions. A 5g lens in vertical orientation can exceed 600μm at 100mA.
What driver ICs work with the CLA321-VCM?
Commonlands recommends the Dongwoon DW9714 or Texas Instruments DRV201 as driver ICs. Those parts are a practical starting point because Commonlands does not currently supply its own SW or FW driver stack.
What is the rated current for the CLA321-VCM?
The rated current is 120mA, and the absolute maximum is 150mA. The starting current, where displacement reaches 10μm, is 45-65mA.
Does the CLA321-VCM ship same day from the US?
Yes. Orders placed before 12 PM PST ship same day from our San Diego warehouse.
Is the CLA321-VCM life-tested?
Yes. Commonlands life-tested the CLA321-VCM to 500,000 cycles at 23°C with a 0.5s ON, 0.5s OFF, 0-90mA-0 cycle profile.
