Frequently asked questions
What M12 lenses work with the CLA322 motorized mount?
The CLA322 works with standard M12, or S-mount, lenses up to 5g. Most Commonlands M12 lenses fall within that range, but heavier lenses may need a custom motor setup.
How does the CLA322 autofocus motor connect?
The CLA322 includes a detachable USB adapter board for prototyping. In production, the motor can connect directly to your camera controller or FPGA.
What is the stroke length of the CLA322?
The CLA322 ultrasonic linear actuator provides 6.5mm of stroke. That travel covers the focus range of most M12 lenses from close-up to infinity.
Can the CLA322 handle heavier lenses?
The standard CLA322 supports lenses up to 5g. If your lens is heavier, engineering@commonlands.com can discuss a higher-force custom version.
What is the difference between the CLA322 and CLA321?
The CLA322 uses an ultrasonic linear actuator with 6.5mm of stroke, so it gives you more travel. The CLA321 uses a voice coil motor, so it responds faster but does not offer the same stroke range.
Does the CLA322 ship same day from the US?
Yes. Commonlands ships in-stock accessories same day from San Diego, California for orders placed before 12 PM PST.
