Low Distortion M8 Lens \| 3-5MP for sensors such as IMX335

The CIL857 is a 5.7mm lens for 1/2.7" sensors up to 5MP like the IMX335, and it is available in both M8 and M12 mounts. The lens gives you a 53° field at F/3.0 in a package that is unusually small even by board-camera standards. You pick this lens when the camera has almost no room around the sensor.

The CIL857 gives you 53° at the 5.5mm image circle. Distortion measures -2% TV, which keeps images natural enough that most embedded vision systems do not need correction. The 7.0mm total image circle also gives you a little overscan margin beyond the designed 1/2.7" format. You can check exact coverage at field of view calculator

The M8 version weighs 0.8g and keeps total track length to 10.4mm. The M12 version weighs 2g and uses the same optics, so you can choose the mount based on mechanics instead of image quality. Both versions use aluminum barrels with BBAR coating on the first surface. The front pinhole aperture keeps the package compact for miniature inspection heads and USB pinhole cameras.

The compact form factor limits mechanical compatibility. The lens works with e-con Systems boards that use a 5-7mm tall holder, and the Commonlands CLA819 provides a dedicated mount. The lens does not fit Allied Vision Alvium, FLIR Blackfly S, iDS uEye LE, or The Imaging Source cameras. You should check with Basler directly if you need Dart S-Mount confirmation.

Each variant ships with or without a 650nm IR cut filter. You can order CIL857-F3.0-M08A650 for the M8 mount with filter, or CIL857-F3.0-M12ANIR for the M12 version without the filter.
