The CLA127 is a 3.5mm thick M12-to-C mount adapter that lets you use M12 (S-mount) lenses on C-mount and CS-mount cameras. Thread your M12 lens into one side, screw the adapter into your camera body, and you have a working system. The adapter can be removed with a standard spanner wrench.

Compatibility is the critical question with any M12-to-C-mount conversion. The mechanical back focal length (MBFL) of your M12 lens determines whether this adapter will work. If your lens has an MBFL less than roughly 4mm, it physically cannot reach focus on most C-mount cameras because the sensor sits too far away. Even when the adapter mechanically fits, keep in mind that C-mount cameras have larger sensors than most M12 lenses were designed for. If the M12 lens image circle is smaller than your sensor diagonal, you will see vignetting at the corners. Match your lens image circle to your sensor size before ordering.
