Frequently asked questions
What does the M12-to-C mount adapter do?
The adapter converts a C mount camera to accept M12x0.5 threaded lenses. It threads into the 1″-32 TPI C mount and provides an M12x0.5 receptacle for S-mount optics.
How thick is the CLA-M12-C-ADAPTER?
The CLA-M12-C-ADAPTER is 6mm thick. You should account for that added flange distance when you check back focal compatibility between the M12 lens and the C mount camera.
Can I use M12 lenses on a CS mount camera with this adapter?
Yes. C and CS mount cameras both use 1″-32 TPI threads, so the adapter fits mechanically. CS mount cameras have a shorter flange distance, 12.526mm versus 17.526mm for C, so you should verify focus range. See lens mount guide for details.
Does the M12-to-C adapter affect image quality?
No. The adapter is purely mechanical and contains no optical elements. Image quality, field of view, and resolution still depend entirely on the M12 lens you install.
What M12 lenses work with this adapter?
Any standard M12x0.5 threaded lens works with this adapter, including all 50+ Commonlands M12 models. Check coverage on your C mount sensor with the field of view calculator at field of view calculator
Does the CLA-M12-C-ADAPTER ship same day?
